Virginia Flue Cured Tobacco is one of the type a lot tobacco cultivated in Indonesia, this many used as ingredient raw cigarette cigarettes, pipe and Susur (chewing tobacco). Leaf contain compound very decisive chemistry quality taste resulting which sugar. Sugar content give mild but if rate too tall precisely will causes burning irritation esophagus. However Thus, SNI-01-4401-2006 it not yet formulated method testing total sugar content. On research conducted validation determination FCV with phenol-sulfate by UV-Vis spectrophotometry aimed at get valid for tobacco. Validity showed through parameters linearity, precision, LOD LOQ, accuracy. Test started hydrolysis use sour 4.5% sulfate. Solution extract be read UV-vis spectrophotometer wavelength 490 nm dye phenol-sulphate. Linearity test results curve obtained value r = 0.9997 range work 20 – 100 mg/L, accuracy 7 repetitions % recovery 98.19 101.62%, LOQ respectively 1,009 mg/L 3,362 while precision deviation relative standard 1.025%, result still under 2/3 CVH 1.86.
